Our Instructors
Abbie - Owner and Competitive Team Coordinator
Abbie’s career journey at CCGA began back in 2010, twelve years prior to becoming the owner of the gym in 2022. She loves teaching all the various programs offered at the gym but her favorite event to teach is Bars! Abbie Is a graduate of Central Davidson High School and was a competitive gymnast all the way through Level 10. During her journey she qualified to compete in several Regional and National events. Abbie and her husband, Zack, bought the business in 2022 and she continues to coach her 14-year-old daughter, Chloe, on USAG Competitive Team.
Carrie - Assistant Manager and Competitive Team
Coordinator
Carrie has worked at CCGA for 14 years and has been doing gymnastics since only eighteen months old! This includes her time on the competitive team at CCGA from the ages of eight to thirteen years old. Favorite events to teach are Vault and Bars and Mighty Hoppers is her fave program to teach! When she isn’t at coaching at CCGA, Carrie loves the outdoors…fishing, gardening and hiking are where you can find her!
Ellen - Invitational and Recreational Class Instructor
Ellen aka “the gym mom” is an OG from 1992… part of the original competitive program here at the gym! She began working here around Summer 2014 but believes most of her experience in gymnastics comes from being a competitive team mom to Miss Sadie! Her favorite programs to teach are Preschool and Teenie Boppers! Miss Ellen finds joy interacting and teaching children while surrounded by friends who have become an extension of her family!
Grace - Invitational Instructor and Competitive Team Coach
Grace has been working at CCGA since April 2018 and her favorite program to teach is USAG Competitive Team!! Her favorite events to coach are Floor and Bars. Grace was a competitive gymnast for ten years achieving Level 9 status. After high school she went on college to attain her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Psychology.
Mallory - Invitational Instructor and Competitive
Team Coach
Mallory has been part of the CCGA staff for nine years now! Her favorite program to teach is a tie between Competitive Team and Playful Parenting…but she loves teaching all of the events not just one favorite! Before completing her degree at NC State University and continuing her journey in nursing school now, Mallory was a Level 8 gymnast when she graduated high school! When she’s not working and studying, she likes playing with her dogs and working cheer competitions!!!
Makayla - Invitational Instructor and Competitive Team Coach
Makayla started working at CCGA In June 2022 and enjoys teaching AAU Bronze most of all! Her favorite event to teach is Bars! Miss Makayla has a Bachelor’s degree In Exercise Science and was a competitive gymnast for 8 years…all the way to Level 8! In her free time she golfs, hikes, exercises and spends time with family. Another fun fact about Makayla is that she ran Cross country and Track in college!
Ashlyn - Invitational and Recreational Class Instructor
Ashlyn has eight years of gymnastics experience including competitive team at CCGA and has been working here for two years while completing high school in 2025. She currently attends GTCC where she is working towards here career as an EMT!!! Go Ashlyn! She likes teaching Mighty Hoppers the most and Floor is her favorite event to teach!
Ashleigh - Invitational and Recreational Class Instructor
Ashleigh is currently a Senior in high school and has eleven years of experience in gymnastics including being part of the CCGA competitive team where she is currently a USAG Level 9 gymnast! She has worked at the gym for a year now and her favorite program to teach is Advanced Girls with Floor being her favorite event to teach. One of her hobbies is learning new dishes to cook. An interesting fact is that she’s involved in cheerleading, track & field and gymnastics too!!!
Leigha - Invitational and Recreational Class Instructor
Mrs. Leigha has been at the gym since 2020 and most enjoys teaching Preschool! Beam is her favorite event to teach. She has been married for fifteen years and has two daughters who both play Lacrosse! She loves to watch them play, go to concerts and take care of her many plants (some of which you can see growing in the office)!
Breigh - Invitational and Recreational Class Instructor
Breigh has been working at CCGA since June 2024 and most enjoys working with the School Age program…Beam is her favorite event to teach and she has experience with both cheer and dance! When she isn’t at the gym her hobbies include hair styling and she is active in her church.
Zada - Ninja and Recreational Class Instructor
Zada started working at CCGA in 2021 and most enjoys teaching Ninja and Teenie Boppers. Floor is her favorite event to teach! When she isn’t working, she is spending time with her cats Luna and Azzy!
Mackenzie - Ninja and Recreational Class Instructor
MacKenzie is a Level 9 gymnast here at CCGA and has also been working at the gym now for a full year. She is a Junior at West Davidson and plans to attend UNC Wilmington for Marine Biology. Her favorite program to teach is Little Ninja and event Beam!!! Hobbies of hers include art, hiking and swimming. Interesting fact: She is very flexible!
Heather - Office Assistant
Miss Heather has been working at CCGA just over a year now and her favorite part is communicating and helping other parents through the office. She had some experience in recreational gymnastics growing up but everything she knows comes from watching her girls climb the ranks at CCGA for the last eight and a half years! Heather is an Alumni of NC State University where she enjoys seeing her girls attend gymnastics camp. When she’s not at the gym or watching a gymnastics competition, you will find her to spending time outside in beautiful weather!
